Tadahiro Honda is a human from a colony world called Ganjitsu. A few years ago Ganjitsu was briefly occupied by the Klingon renegades until they were pushed out by a Starfleet task force. Honda joined Starfleet partly from a desire to serve in the force that saved his colony, and partly as a way to escape his limited prospects there. He has mixed feelings about this.
